Professional dance tuition for your school
Keri Hill Dance has been actively working in Primary Schools across Somerset and Dorset for a number of years in many different formats.
Teaching within the PE curriculum
Providing term time weekly dance tuition to classes of up to 30 children. Learning various different styles of dance and technique is a valuable opportunity to children of this tender age. Not every child responds well to the usual sporting activities on offer and dance can provide an aspiring and engaging format to not only keep fit, but improve coordination, self-awareness, ability and most importantly, confidence. A much-needed preparation for Secondary School.
This is a great way to tie in a topic or theme that the school/class is working on. This would usually consist of an entire school day of teaching various classes or working all day with a particular year group, a chosen specified style of dance. This bespoke opportunity is a great fun way of engaging the class with dance.
Keri Hill Dance is currently active in many schools providing before and after school clubs for all ages and year groups. We work privately so that parents’ book directly with us which releases pressure for the schools themselves. We offer a professional service and work closely with the schools in order to meet standards and terms and conditions which match that of their own.
Are you a Teacher?
We accommodate different budgets, so whether it is a long- or short-term plan, or even simply a workshop day, we can cater a dancing experience for you. You may have a topic you would like the dance style to reflect (e.g Indian Bhangra) or a piece of music you would like some choreography to fit. Or maybe you would like to simply offer a Dance Club.
Engaging in any of the above will also open up the exciting opportunity to take part in our annual dance show, which is specifically for local Primary Schools to showcase their dancing efforts and achievements on the big stage! In April 2022 ‘Primary Festival of Dance’ debuts at the Octagon Theatre and we are inviting many schools to take part. This will be an annual event which will no doubt grow in success and popularity.
